Donate blood, save life
Blood Donation Camp Service is an important activity every person should embrace it as they grow up. On 17th September, the students organized a blood donation camp in the blood bank of Choithram Hospital. The blood donation camp was a successful one. They managed to collect 30 units of blood, which was a great help for the blood bank. The blood donation camp was only a one day event but to accomplish this event it took lot of efforts or working hours. It was due to the support from our Principal, coordinator and teachers that this target of arranging a blood donation camp was accomplished. Furthermore the helping hand extended by Choithram hospital’s blood bank made it a great success. Never in my wildest dream had I imagined that service could be such a rewarding one, rewarding not in the terms of money, but in the form of experience, learning and developing new skills.
The overall journey from the brainstorming session to the final day of the camp, each and every bit taught us different things and helped in development of many skills. Not only this but as it was a self-initiated service activity the students learned to be more independent, patient and managed to tackle critical situations at the time of pressure. Along with the blood donation camp, the MYP students also helped students of PYP to make ‘thank you’ cards for Indian soldiers and then those cards were sent to them. The enthusiasm and the dedication were seen amongst the students. Each and every child tried to make the best card for them. Some of the cards were distributed in the Mhow cantonment and the smile on the faces of the soldiers made us cry deep inside our hearts. Finally by the end of the first term, the students were elated and had a feeling of satisfaction after serving the society.
