Parent involvement in PYP
Students with parents who are involved in their school tend to have fewer behavioural problems and better academic performance. Positive effects of parental involvement have been demonstrated at both the PYP and MYP levels across several studies, with the largest effects often occurring at the elementary level. We believe it is vitally important that parents have an opportunity to be connected to the school in a variety of ways. Parent participation is welcomed on many levels in PYP. Parents for instance help out in conducting guest lectures, organising field trips, helping out during celebrations etc. This helps parents feel a strong sense of connection towards the accomplishments around the school.
